Speck CandyShell BatWing Black for iPhone 3G 3Gs Review
First off as i said on the video review on youtube, I LOVE THIS CASE, i have been so hooked with SwitchEasy for so long that even their clones i love, and when i got my first Candyshell from Speck for my first iPhone, i never thought i would dislike a case so much, in-spite of its great design and awesome features.
I owned 2 SPECK CandyShells, the black and yellow and the grey/orange or gumball and i like them both but my problem was that the cases where just soooooooooooooooooooo hard to remove i almost had an iPhone casualty!.
The problems didn’t end there, i had an IS to top it all and that just aggravated the installation of the last one and so then i decided to go or naked or different case,, so every time i have gotten a Candyshell for review for free for me to keep as well i have given away given the hassle i had in the past with this cases, specially when many fellow hofo members reported issues ussing the IS or BSE under the Candyshell which i had warned about for the longest time, but yet again the only way to lear is by making your own mistakes and indeed some did reported the imperfections of this cases along used with the shields.
Today is a different story, i received the case i purchased at Wireless Rage and when i inspectioned the case prior to installation, i was so surprised when noticed the flexibility of this case compared to the last one, this one is bendable, the last one was hard as a rock, and don’t misinterpretate me sometimes a hard case is what a phone such as this needs, afterall, this phones are so expensive you need all the protection you can get, but it was too much of a hassle to remove, (when it comes to a person like me that switches cases with every change of clothes :embaresse )
Anyways when i saw that the dimensions are the same but some how the designed had been improved i just couldn’t wait to try it, i almost didn’t take any pictures of the phone on it cus i just wanted to use it already, the alignments of all ports, controls and sensors beautifully cut, unlike the other one i had- since the material was hard it sort of scratched one side of my chrome bezel (im too picky you can see) and this new design on the solid colors have amazed me in such way i dont think i will go back to other case unless is the same on a different color (which im on it already!) OMG the inside insulation is so soft my phone is not just being protected but its being Babied! and the edges are so much softer than the last Candyshell Original, and lets not mention how easy it is now to remove easily!
Its Catchy, the glossy black on it its really nice, yes it catches finger prints here and there but hey you cant seriously expect for every case to be perfect and what are we all buying cases for anyways if it isn’t to get all the dirt, smudges, and FP your devices should? so there this are my 0.02 cts on this case, worth the money i payed for it, didn’t get it off of Specks site cus even with their 50% off i got it even cheaper with free shipping and and extra 10% off at WR.
SO HERE ARE A FEW SHOTS YOU ALL NEED TO SEE.
So, does this mean that you can use this case with a IS or BSE with the new design?
Well, In my case i had a full body uniqueskins pictures customized, and didn’t see a need to remove before installation, i also removed the case several times in less than 5 minutes to see what would that do to the skin i had on my phone and it didn’t lift it of the phone when removing as when i had the IS on it. but there again that has been just my experience, not sure if its the same with the IS or BSE, but this is the closest example i can give you.
I would say not to overpass the chance of getting this case cus in fact the design has been changed flawlessly although it doesnt look like it but it has been changed for the better, before with my old uniqueskins skin the phone would just simply NOT work and the case wouldnt snap in and i had to make a choice forcing me to not use the case or to remove the skin which for me was not an option when it comes to throw money away.
If it works with that skin this time, my guess is that most likely it will on the new Candyshell but yet again i cant confirm this, i will have to get another IS to try this my self and let you know.
